A guide to using Social Media

There is an etiquette for everything we do in life; dining experience , business, phone etc. Now that the world of Social media is constantly evolving and while the internet is becoming a place where everything is accessible , it is very important to apply certain rules or rather etiquettes, when online. Here are few social media etiquette to remember the next time you log in to Facebook or post another tweet on Twitter.

FACEBOOK:
Don’t: upload photos of your friends or anyone else without their consent: especially if that activity could get them into trouble while looking for job or applying to college. Think about the embarrassment or humiliation of the other person will feel and put yourself in their shoes. Would you want other peopleto upload and tag photos of you where you don’t feel comfortable sharing in the online world?

Do: Ask the concerned person first if they are okay with you uploading particular photos. After all, yourfriendship in life is much important than on Facebook.

INSTAGRAM
Don’t: Upload 10 photos in a day. Instagram is an app that captures and stores beautiful moments. 10 photos all at once will not annoy your followers, they will also eventually disappear. If you are also keen on sharing your life on Social Media , better use snapchat.

Do: Limit the number of photos you post. Not only will your followers appreciate you but they will also have something to look forward to on your next post. Keeping it mysterious is the key.

TWITTER
Don’t: use too much abbreviations. We know you only have 140 characters to complete yourt sentence but don’t overuse it.

Do: Stick to the conventional ones so your message is clear to your followers. You don’t want them getting a wrong idea about what are you trying to convey.

SNAPCHAT
Don’t: pick on strangers. While it may be fun to take photos something silly or ridiculous there is really no reason to publicly humiliate others when you are out. It just shows the kind of person you are inside.

Do: Think about the negative impact it will have on you. Also, if you were caught doing something silly which is out of your control, you would not want to be in the same situation right?
